Make a Mickey

  • Create your own Mickey Mouse heads to decorate the tables, by taking two small plastic foam balls and one larger plastic foam ball and painting them whatever color you would like. Using a sharp knife, gently cut a small wedge off of the bottom of two smaller balls and cut the bottom off of a larger ball. Stick a toothpick on each side of the large ball, approximately where ears would be. Slide the smaller balls onto the toothpicks to create the Mickey Mouse icon. These table decorations can then be used as part of a centerpiece, as place card holders or to label what food is in different dishes.

    Make a Glove

Another original way to decorate for your Mickey Mouse party is to create replicas of his iconic white-gloved hands. Using a sturdy piece of foam board, carefully trace the shape of the glove. Use a regular knife, or heat knife if you have one available, to cut the shape out, and add the details. Go over the edges and the details of the glove with black marker or paint, and then affix the glove cutouts to an inexpensive napkin holder or small box, which you can then use for display and to hold plastic forks, spoons and knives.

    Color Palette

Although you can go with any color you wish, a classic Mickey Mouse theme will be heavy on red, white, black and sunny yellow. Stick with basic solid colors, and you will be able to neatly pull your party room together in no time. If you will have people sitting at tables, cover the tables with red table cloths, to which you have added yellow circles that are made to look like buttons. Attach these in pairs at each place setting, in order to recall the look and feel of Mickey's famous shorts.

    A Mickey Cake

Even a first-time cake decorator can successfully make a Mickey Mouse cake. Simply bake one large round cake and two smaller round cakes. Cut a rounded wedge off of the bottom of each of the small cakes, and nestle them against the sides of the larger cake, to create ears. Ice the whole cake in a single color frosting and you have a perfect Mickey cake.

    Snowboard Boots and Gloves Dryer

Even in the dead of winter, your hands and feet will sweat inside your snowboard boots, while your gloves get it from both ends - sweat from your hands as well as moisture from contact with the snow. Unless you dry your boots and gloves overnight, they'll still be wet the next morning, leading to cold, wet hands and feet.

While putting them next to the fire works, it can also damage your boots and gloves, drastically shortening their lifespan. That's where snowboard boot and glove dryers come in.

Investment in Gold: A way of meeting Portfolio Target

Investors have plenty of options available to them these days. Those who are interested in buying gold in physical form can buy from jewellers, banks or accumulate gold through monthly schemes offered by jewellers . If you want to accumulate paper gold, you can buy exchange traded funds dedicated to gold or open ended gold savings funds.

  • Then there is egold from the National Spot Exchange; and Reliance My Gold Plan, where you can invest regularly but get physical gold at the end of the tenure. "Depending on consumption and investment needs, gold can be bought in either physical form or electronic form," says Amar Pandit, founder & CEO, My Financial Planner.

    BUYING PHYSICAL GOLD

Many Indians prefer owning the metal physically. For such individuals, the traditional, simple and easiest way to buy gold is from the local jeweller. However, this may not be a very efficient way to invest in gold.

"Jewellers could levy a mark-up over the market prices and there are other issues like purity and storage," says Harshvardhan Roongta, CFP, Roongta Securities. If you buy jewellery, the making charges could vary from one jeweler to another. Finally, when you sell the ornament or jewellery, you will get the prevailing market price of gold minus all these extra charges. Also, safe-keeping physical gold is risky, that is why experts recommend accumulating gold in electronic form.

    BUYING GOLD ELECTRONICALLY

"Investors could look at buying gold through mutual funds as they are well regulated and there are no issues of purity and storage," says Chirag Mehta , fund manager at Quantum Mutual Fund. You can buy units though the ETF route if you have a broking and demat account. If you do not have a demat account, you can invest through a gold savings fund offered by most fund houses.

BUY REGULARLY AND TAKE DELIVERY LATER

Many investors accumulate gold for a future event or need. If you have time on your side, financial planners recommend you use a scheme like Reliance My Gold Plan (RMGP) or an e-gold plan. For buying gold through RMGP, you need to set aside a fixed amount every month. For example, if your monthly payment is Rs 2,000, Reliance My Gold Plan will buy gold worth Rs 100 through 20 instalments every month, giving you the benefit of averaging. "The investor gets the benefit of daily averaging methodology," says Vikrant Gugnani, head (broking & distribution), Reliance Capital.

    Real Estate Ideas

Depending on where you live, from about October to March the real estate market slows down–if not altogether dries up. What can you do to make the most of these dead months?
    Here are a few suggestions:

  • Have an Open-House Party

Open houses can be pretty lame. A pair of buyers or two milling around a home while you sit and tap your pencil on the desk, staring out the window. Instead of treating an open house like a visit to a museum, ask the seller if you can have a happy hour.

Bring food, drinks and music–and let people browse and have fun. And if you keep this strategy for the winter months only, then people will actually look forward to house shopping in winter. And keep in mind–you may not sell more houses, but you will make out like a bandit when it comes to generating leads. You will be the talk of the market.

    Take a Poll

Ask your prospects, customers and former clients to help you gear up for 2013. Get suggestions for marketing, listing ideas and even staging tips. People love it when you ask for their opinion. Treat this like a monthly exercise and people will anticipate your next poll.

    Go Shopping

Look for discount and deals on items you need for your office and work space. The winter may be a good time to buy that iPad or new printer or scoop up those $1 items that the retailer picked up for a penny. Look for closeouts as businesses are shutting down. Search out auctions to buy staging furniture. Heck, be on the look out for a house or two, too.

    Got to Conferences

Go to regional or national conferences you weren’t able to attend during the busy months. Use this time to network with agents from across the country who might be great sources for relocation leads.

If you are of the ambitious sort, why not start your own conference or mastermind group? You can play host, become the authority in your community and pile up those leads as winter warms.

    Penny pinch

Now that you aren’t rushing off to a showing every afternoon, take the time to reduce all of your expenses. Hunt down new prices for your phones or insurance. Investigate independent service companies and find out their competitive prices (think home inspectors or title people–anybody who can help your clients).

    Take a Class

Now is the time to enroll for some higher education. Find a college course in accounting or seek out a mentor. Is there an online certification that you’ve been hoping to get? The winter is a great time to get it.

    Ideas for Snowboarding Rails

Great adventure is waiting for those who are adventurous and want to do everything that is extraordinary in their life... Go for trying some of the snowboarding aspects and to make your own way of enjoying...

    Snowboarding Rails

  • Link to buy purchase snowboarding accessories (copy/paste into your address bar):
  • Nature Made Rails

There are several things you can use throughout nature as a snowboarding rail. These are best used if you are more advanced at snowboarding, with the skill level of being comfortable on a regular grind rail that is made for snowboarders. Things in nature to use as a snowboarding rail include thick, large fallen trees, logs or smooth-edged rocks. Examine these items before you attempt using them as a rail, though, for nicks in the edges that could catch your board and send you to injury.

    Handrails

Handrails are everywhere, especially around ski resorts. They can be on either side of a stairwell, down the middle or on both sides. These are ideal because they are just regular snowboarding grind rails (that are made for snowboarders) and as they are sturdy, straight and even edged. The only drawback is if you fall, the stairs do not provide a comfortable landing like the usual soft snow.

    Box-Edge

A box edge is usually what beginner snowboarders practice on before attempting a regular snowboarding grind rail. It is lower to the ground while providing stability and an even edge, but if you fall it won't hurt as much. Use a plywood or wood box that has at least three edges. Place it open-side-down on the ground (if there is an open side), and make sure it is placed against something sturdy so when you jump onto it, it will not slide away or fall over. Ideally, the box will be about three to four feet wide and you can push it against a wall, so there is enough room for you to slide across it with the pressure from the wall holding it still. See References for directions on how to make your own snowboarding grind rail box.

    Strategies For Brand Promotion

Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. The industry has four core players: the merchant (also known as 'retailer' or 'brand'), the network (that contains offers for the affiliate to choose from and also takes care of the payments), the publisher (also known as 'the affiliate'), and the customer.

    Brand Promotion

  • Link to buy book for making Brand Media Strategy (copy/paste into your address bar):
  • The market has grown in complexity to warrant a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates and specialized third party vendors.

Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization (SEO), paid search engine marketing (PPC - Pay Per Click), e-mail marketing, content marketing and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.

Affiliate marketing is commonly confused with referral marketing, as both forms of marketing use third parties to drive sales to the retailer. However, both are distinct forms of marketing and the main difference between them is that affiliate marketing relies purely on financial motivations to drive sales while referral marketing relies on trust and personal relationships to drive sales.

Affiliate marketing is frequently overlooked by advertisers. While search engines, e-mail, and website syndication capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still, affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers' marketing strategies.
